Dr. Watkins is a general surgeon who has specialized training in minimally invasive and gastrointestinal surgery. His goal is to view each patient as an individual with unique healthcare needs. He believes wellness and improvement in quality of life should be the primary goal of each visit. Establishing relationships with patients and seeing the change in their life after successful therapy is the highlight of his practice.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He earned a Doctor of Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed a general surgery residency at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas and went on to train an additional year in the Advanced Gastrointestinal surgery fellowship program at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA devoted to esophageal/thoracic surgery and advanced endoscopy. His interests lie in esophageal surgery, endoscopy, and general surgery. He commonly treats reflux disease, esophageal motility/swallowing disorders, cancers of the alimentary tract, hernias, diaphragmatic/thoracic endometriosis, peritoneal dialysis catheter access and other general surgical issues. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and member of the Society for American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
He enjoys spending free time with his wife and 3 boys, cycling, snowboarding and music. He is also fluent in Spanish.
